Sunday Squirreling

Follow my blog with Bloglovin This past Sunday, I had the lovely opportunity to meet up with the fabulous ladies of Trifabb (Triangle Area Bloggers)! This month's meetup was at my favorite local shop, The Local Squirrel, located in Cameron Village. I had a terrific time meeting other bloggers in the area. We all connected through our passion for blogging and got to learn a few valuable lessons from the store owner herself who just so happens to be a Meredith College grad (Go Angels!).

As part of this event, The Local Squirrel donated a percentage of their proceeds of the day to a local non-profit organization called Hope Reins! This nonprofit's mission is to provide comfort to hurting children and their families by providing one-on-one sessions between caring leaders and extraordinary equine counselors, many of whom are rescued horses and faced abuse and neglect themselves. Hope Reins strives to teach good communication skills through their program working with horses and doing tasks around the ranch. This organization is such a great place for children and young adults to learn how to communicate their feelings and work through the trauma they have been through in life. If you would like to learn more about this organization or donate today here is the link to their site: http://www.hopereinsnc.org/

The Local Squirrel is the perfect place to go for any gift, piece of jewelry, or home decor item! Almost all of their items are made by local creators and artists with the exception of a couple national brands such as Rifle Paper Co. Pictured above are some beautiful decor pieces they currently have on display! Follow them on Instagram at @thelocalsquirrel!
